Caravan Care

A cleaner for the condition of your caravan

A caravan cleaning routine starts with two questions: what surface are you working on, and what needs to come off it? A wash for a well-maintained exterior, a cleaner for accumulated winter grime and a treatment for yellow staining have different jobs. Choosing between them is more useful than treating every mark with the same product.

The Silky range brings these tasks together without making cleaning and polishing interchangeable. Cream Cleaner addresses dirt on suitable PVC, plastic and GRP; Deep Cleaner tackles grime and film; Envirowash is the regular shampoo option; Bright targets yellowing and staining on GRP and white plastic. Start with the cleaning task, then consider whether any separate restoration work is needed.

Plan your caravan clean

For regular washing, Envirowash is a pH-neutral shampoo for finishes that are already well maintained. Its instructions describe a pre-rinse, mixing with water and washing from the top down with a soft, clean sponge while keeping the vehicle wet. Finish with a water rinse. Follow the quantities and complete directions on the current container.

After winter storage, accumulated grime may call for Deep Cleaner instead. Choose the ready-to-use format or read the separate Concentrate instructions before mixing. Cream Cleaner provides another route for dirt and grime on suitable plastic and GRP surfaces; it is a non-abrasive cleaner, not a cutting or polishing compound.

When a mark needs a different approach

Yellowing or staining on GRP and white plastic is the role of Silky Bright Stain Remover. It is a specialist oxalic-acid treatment, not the shampoo for the whole wash. Its instructions include avoiding contact with non-ferrous metals, so read the label and safety information before deciding where to apply it.

If a surface is clean but still lacks gloss, more washing may not be the next appropriate step. Read our caravan restoration guide for the different roles of Restore, Fineshine and Superseal. An unknown coating, repaired panel or uncertain surface is a reason to ask for guidance before choosing a treatment.

Common caravan cleaning questions

Do I need every product? No. Choose for the surface and condition you have. A maintained caravan needing a routine wash is a different task from one with seasonal grime or localised staining. The four options below are alternatives for different jobs, not a shopping list.

Where can I find directions and buying options? Each product page explains its intended use and application guidance, with links to purchase where available. Check the current pack before use. If you are unsure which product fits, tell us the surface, the marks you can see and what you have already tried in the enquiry form below.
