Silky Cream Cleaner
THE PRODUCT

The product

Silky Cream Cleaner is the non-abrasive cream option in the range for dirt and grime on PVC, plastic and GRP. That makes it a focused cleaning choice when rain has carried ordinary dirt down a suitable caravan panel.

It is not the same job as polishing dull gelcoat or treating persistent yellow staining. Start with a small, inconspicuous test if the panel has an unfamiliar coating, repair or finish.

BEST FOR

Best for

Use this route for dark runoff marks below windows or fittings when the affected surface is confirmed as suitable plastic or GRP and the mark behaves like surface dirt.

Check the adjacent window, trim and seal separately. The product information for a panel does not automatically establish suitability for glass, decals, sealants or a previously coated area.

CHECK FIRST

Check first

If a streak keeps returning from the same point, inspect the window surround, gutter or seal for the source of the runoff. Cleaning a panel will not repair an underlying water-entry or seal problem.

If the dark line remains after careful cleaning, stop before rubbing harder. The remaining mark may be staining or a changed finish, which calls for a different assessment.

1

Identify the material and the mark

Look at the panel below the window in good light. Confirm whether it is PVC, plastic or GRP, and distinguish a loose dark runoff deposit from a scratch, stain or damaged finish. Check the vehicle maker’s care advice and the current Cream Cleaner label before treating an unfamiliar surface.

Avoid treating nearby window glazing, decals, seals or metal as though they were the same panel. Where the material or coating is unclear, ask Silky Leisure before working across a large area.

2

Clean a small suitable area

Follow the directions on the current Silky Cream Cleaner container for application and removal. Start with a small inconspicuous section of the suitable panel and a clean, soft applicator, then compare the treated and untreated areas.

Work methodically along the streak rather than increasing force. The product is a non-abrasive cleaner for dirt and grime; more pressure is not a substitute for checking what the mark actually is.

3

Inspect the result before moving on

Once the area is clean, inspect it in consistent light. If the dark deposit has lifted and the finish remains sound, continue with ordinary care appropriate to the vehicle. Note any source of repeated runoff so the streak does not immediately return.

If a mark persists in the material, do not assume Cream Cleaner failed or reach straight for a polish. Determine whether it is staining, old coating damage or loss of gloss. For clean but dull older gelcoat, use the restoration guide; for persistent yellow staining on white GRP, see the specialist GRP guide.

Check the surface, choose the right cleaning stage and know when to stop and reassess.

They often show where rainwater has carried dirt down a panel, but the appearance alone does not prove the cause. Inspect the window surround, gutter and seal as well as the mark.

No blanket compatibility claim is made here. The published Cream Cleaner guidance identifies PVC, plastic and GRP surfaces; check the current label and the vehicle maker’s advice for glass, seals, decals, coatings and trim.

It is a cleaner for dirt and grime. If careful cleaning leaves a mark within the material or finish, identify the remaining condition before choosing another product.

No. Reassess the surface and the mark instead of escalating pressure. An unfamiliar coating, stain or damaged finish may need a different approach.

Check where water is running from. A cleaner can remove a suitable surface deposit, but it cannot correct a leaking seal or the source of repeated runoff.

Clean the streak, then understand what remains

Silky Cream Cleaner is the focused option for dirt and grime on suitable caravan PVC, plastic and GRP. Read the current pack, test an uncertain finish and inspect the panel after cleaning. If the condition is not ordinary dirt, use the relevant application guide or ask the Silky team before changing products.
