Silky Fineshine
THE PRODUCT

The product

Silky Fineshine is described for previously buffed and compounded plastics and paintwork. Its role is to refine the surface after the Restore polishing stage, not to replace a cleaner or a more substantial restoration step.

The current product guidance allows hand or rotary-machine application with an appropriate compounding pad. Use the method and surface precautions on the container you have.

BEST FOR

Best for

This guide is for light haze or fine swirls visible in a clean surface that has already been compounded or buffed, where the underlying finish is suitable for Fineshine.

Check the condition in even light. A deep scratch, failed coating, dirt film or untreated dull gelcoat may need a different decision rather than another pass of a finishing compound.

CHECK FIRST

Check first

Make sure the earlier stage is complete, residue has been removed, and the surface is clean. Read the current Fineshine directions and test an inconspicuous area.

If the finish is unfamiliar or has a previous repair, ask for product guidance before covering the whole panel. Refinement should not be used to hide unresolved damage.

1

Confirm the surface is ready for refinement

Inspect the caravan after cleaning and the preceding polishing or compounding stage. Identify whether the visible effect is genuinely fine haze or swirls, rather than remaining grime, an old coating defect or a deeper scratch.

Fineshine is positioned after Restore in the Silky sequence. If the older gelcoat still needs the initial polishing stage, start with the Restore application guide.

2

Work a small test section

Shake the current Fineshine bottle, ensure the surface is clean, and test an inconspicuous area. The published guidance permits hand or rotary-machine application with an appropriate compounding pad.

Work in sections around 50 cm by 50 cm, using water to keep the surface cool as the product guidance states. Keep your inspection light and working method consistent from one area to the next.

3

Remove residue and assess the gloss

Remove residue with a clean cloth or wash clean with water, following the current container instructions. Inspect the surface before treating another panel. If haze remains unchanged or the finish reacts unexpectedly, stop and reassess rather than adding pressure.

A satisfactorily refined finish is ready for the next protection decision. Silky Superseal is the later polymer-sealing product for suitable prepared plastic and paint finishes after Fineshine.

Use Fineshine only at the appropriate refining stage, and check the finish before applying protection.

After the surface has been cleaned and previously buffed or compounded. The Silky sequence places it after Restore and before sealing or waxing.

They serve different stages. Restore is the polishing compound for older or previously compounded gelcoat; Fineshine refines a previously worked suitable finish.

Yes. The published Fineshine instructions permit hand or rotary-machine application with an appropriate compounding pad.

This guide does not make that claim. Identify deeper damage or a failed coating separately and seek specialist advice before further polishing.

Once the finish is satisfactory, consider a suitable sealing or waxing stage. The Silky sequence describes Superseal as the polymer sealer after Fineshine.

Finish the refinement before protecting it

Fineshine is the fine-stage product after compounding suitable plastics and paintwork. Follow the current instructions, keep the surface cool and inspect each section before proceeding. Once the finish is ready, explore Superseal and the protection guide.
